What I Did

Day to Day: I interned at Omnicom’s Hearts & Science in Dallas, Texas with AT&T’s Business to Business aspect as our client. I had the responsibility of gathering insights and target market trends weekly in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the strategy we had in place to the clients. These insights gave us a better understanding of our target market by showing us on media habits such as time spent platforms ranging from social media to TV.

Internship Project: Hearts & Science interns across the country were split into teams given the brief to improve Hearts & Science’s recruiting process. Being given an open brief, we were able to determine the problem and  strategy that won and was implemented by Hearts executives.

Ask:

Improve brand perception in order to attract and engage new talent within Millennial and Gen Z age groups. We would like to bolster Hearts recruitment strategy by better leveraging our careers page, recruiting sites, social media and other external recruitment sources to find qualified candidates at all levels.

Problem:

Lack of clarity hindered potential candidates from being interested in positions at Hearts. This manifested itself in a website and LinkedIn that was missing information concerning company culture and job descriptions.

Insight:

Millennial and Gen Z candidates value transparency and potential for growth in a workplace as they get to work  with some of the world’s biggest clients

Strategy:

Show how H&S provides the opportunity for young employees to establish themselves as professionals in a distinguished agency working with world class clients

What I Did:

I led the research and insight process by heading the creation of the survey we used as well as the interviews I assigned our team to have with our coworkers at our respective offices. Contributed suggestions that were on strategy that were implemented by the executives we presented to.

Implementation:

Hearts & Science culture became more apparent as they highlighted individuals and accomplishments in offices worldwide

Benefits and perks to working at Hearts & Science were put front in center with a quick overview added to the career section on their website.

Along with quick overviews on LinkedIn, in depth job listings are now readily available from the careers section on the Hearts & Science website.

 

Potential candidates can also access these details through the links posted on LinkedIn posts. These posts include blurbs on what new job listings entail.
